TeePeeAssembly.WMV

How to assemble Graham's teepee tent. All materials (except thread and Velcro tabs) are recycled - either things I had on hand (such as the clips on the corners are from name tag lariats from conferences) or purchased from the thrift store (such as the flannel blankets for the cover and the metal squares on the baser which I think were shelves for a storage unit). Happy Birthday Graham!!!! This video isn't that great because I made it with my web cam on my computer but its purpose is just to show your mom and dad how to put it together when the package arrives.

You can make a tepee shelter using your tarp sheet or a couple of emergency blankets or a combination of them. You will need three poles. Lay them down and tie them together at one end. Then stand it straight and form a tripod. Tie a cord around the centre of your tarp sheet and drape it around the tripod. Wrap the sheet around the tripod leaving a small opening between two of the three poles for an entrance. You could also make a similar tepee without any poles. Just tie the knot at the centre of the tarp sheet and hang it from the branch of a tree. Use tent pegs to secure the bottom of the sheet in the ground.
