Do You _ sister project _ @Emily Carr

'Do You' was an interactive installation/performance piece that occurred on March 25th, 2011 at 360 Glen in Vancouver, BC. Participants were invited to share a dream-like experience together and the atmosphere encouraged sleep. Among a dozen mattresses, cozy with blankets, there was an dream interpretation tent, lucid dreaming workshops, an experimental musical performance, multiple projectors beamed on blankets that enclosed the space with surreal imagery taken with the artists' cellphone and an installation piece by Willem Van Smit. 'Do You' was then recreated at Emily Carr University of Art & Design for the Grad Show 2011. The piece was re-imagined in a smaller space with the dream tipi, visuals, sound loops and the bed sheet encasing around the whole piece. Participants were invited into the space with a small opening into the tent where they found a comfortable spot for laying underneath yet another tent like structure, a tipi with a hole in the top center to view the projected visuals on the ceiling. This forced the viewer to take time and rest to soak in the experience.
